TL;DR
Engineering Manager (Fintech): Leading the Payments team to build and maintain scalable financial systems with an accent on service-oriented architecture and event-driven workflows. Compensation: Minimum starting point of $200,000 (inclusive of base and bonus).

What you will do
- Lead, coach, and support a team of engineers through 1:1s, career development, and performance management.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leads to shape priorities and manage technical tradeoffs.
- Create clarity around ownership, technical direction, and team standards to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Break down complex payments work into actionable plans with clear sequencing and risk management.
- Contribute hands-on as a senior engineer by designing and reviewing backend services, APIs, and data models.
- Guide technical decisions regarding observability, reliability, and third-party payment integrations.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams in a product-oriented SaaS environment.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building scalable web applications and distributed systems.
- Recent hands-on development experience with Node, TypeScript, Elixir, or similar backend technologies.
- Experience with APIs, service-oriented architectures, event streams, and relational databases.
- Strong technical judgment to guide architecture decisions and balance product speed with technical quality.
- Demonstrated ability to coach engineers, raise team standards, and lead through ambiguity.
Nice to have
- Experience with Stripe or similar payment platforms.
- Background in registration workflows, subscription management, or financial reporting.
- Experience with B2B SaaS products serving organizations.
- Hands-on work in systems that move money at scale.
