Field Engineer (Infrastructure)

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide senior-level field engineering support for active construction, including earthwork, structural elements, and utilities.
• Review construction means and methods for compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
• Support resolution of field issues, conflicts, and unforeseen conditions with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Assist with the review of RFIs, submittals, structural shop drawings, and change orders.
• Coordinate with inspectors, surveyors, utility owners, and structural engineers of record.
• Support QA/QC processes and verification of work in place, particularly for structural concrete and foundations.

Requirements

• 10-15 years of experience in construction engineering or construction management.
• 10-15 years of experience on transportation infrastructure projects with significant structures components.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in Los Angeles, CA.
• Proficiency with construction documentation systems and standard CM tools.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, means and methods, and contract documents.

Nice to have

• Contractor experience as a field engineer, superintendent, or project manager.
• Prior experience on public-sector projects in Southern California.
• Familiarity with Caltrans-style specifications and utility coordination.
• Direct experience with bridge construction, CIDH piles, and structural concrete.
• EIT or PE license in California.
