Senior Software Engineer (AI Engineering)

Location: Hybrid - Must reside within commutable distance to Mississauga, Canada

Salary: $142,000 - $158,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and support AI agentic systems, including autonomous decision-making workflows and tool use.
• Develop multi-agent systems where agents collaborate and delegate to complete complex tasks.
• Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, managing document ingestion, chunking, and vector stores.
• Create MCP servers and integrate agentic systems with third-party APIs and enterprise data sources.
• Develop clean, scalable production-grade code using Python and/or Java.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to iterate on software requirements and debug complex systems.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and/or Java for writing production-grade code.
• Experience building RAG systems, conversational chat systems, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Proven track record in designing microservices and RESTful APIs in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL, MS SQL) and vector databases (Qdrant, Pinecone, etc.).
• Understanding of security for AI systems, including prompt injection defense.
• Must reside within commutable distance to the Mississauga office.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring Boot, React, or Selenium automation.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, and Ansible.
• Experience with AWS/Azure and Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
• Experience working on a SaaS product or Service Oriented Architecture.
