TL;DR
Director, Construction Management (Infrastructure & Capital Projects): Providing executive leadership for all phases of major rail and transit infrastructure projects with an accent on design-build contracts and stakeholder management. Focus on delivering complex transit systems, managing risk and compliance, and optimizing project governance under FTA requirements.
Location: Los Angeles, CA. The work location includes a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client, or in an office.
Salary: $250,000 - $325,000 a year

What you will do
- Provide executive leadership across all project phases, including pre-construction, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
- Oversee multiple design-build and alternative delivery contracts, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget objectives.
- Serve as the primary liaison with client executive leadership, legal teams, and regulatory agencies.
- Lead contract administration, including change management, claims avoidance, risk management, and compliance.
- Establish project governance and performance metrics consistent with rail standards and FTA requirements.
- Direct multidisciplinary teams covering quality assurance, safety, environmental compliance, and stakeholder coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the management and delivery of major rail and transit infrastructure projects, preferably within Southern California.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required (California PE strongly preferred).
- Must be based in or able to work in Los Angeles, CA.
Nice to have
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
- Prior experience with LA Metro projects or similar large urban transit systems.
- Familiarity with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) New Starts program compliance and reporting.
- Proven track record with alternative delivery methods (e.g., Design-Build, CM/GC, P3).
