Enterprise Data Architect

Location: Bangalore; the role is based in Kuala Lumpur with hybrid flexibility.

What you will do

• Own the enterprise data target architecture, including data products, master data, semantic layers, lineage, data quality SLAs, and residency principles.
• Define standards for data products and data contracts, applying data mesh principles where appropriate.
• Prototype architectural patterns and create architecture-as-code and reference implementations with data engineers.
• Shape SAP BW evolution and next-generation data platform strategy across BW on HANA, BW/4HANA, lakehouse, Microsoft Fabric, and hybrid or on-premise environments.
• Design governed data products and AI-ready data contracts for analytics, retrieval, evaluation, observability, and enterprise AI platforms.
• Translate GDPR, the EU AI Act, and other regulatory requirements into controls for data residency, sovereignty, classification, retention, and secure access.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience designing enterprise-scale data architectures in complex global environments.
• Knowledge of data products, data contracts, master data management, semantic layers, lineage, integration, and data quality.
• Experience with SAP BW, BW on HANA, BW/4HANA, lakehouse platforms, Microsoft Fabric, and data mesh.
• Hands-on prototyping experience, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders through clear trade-offs.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

• AI-ready data architecture experience involving retrieval, observability, or evaluation.
• Hybrid cloud, on-premise, or sovereign cloud experience.
• Manufacturing or semiconductor industry exposure.
• TOGAF, IASA, or DAMA-CDMP certification, or ArchiMate familiarity.
