Expansion Manager (Japan & South Korea): Launching and scaling commercial partnerships with ground transportation carriers and retailers across Japan and South Korea with an accent on market entry execution, end-to-end commercial lifecycle ownership, and high-velocity partner onboarding. Focus on negotiating complex B2B/B2C agreements, driving measurable revenue growth post-signature, and coordinating cross-functional delivery to bring partners live on the platform.

Distribusion is a ground transportation marketplace connecting bus, rail, and ferry operators with major online retailers.

What you will do

  • Hunt and sign carrier partners; negotiate marketplace and commercial agreements (front-end and back-end).
  • Build and execute a market entry plan for South Korea ground transport, including engagement with Korail and private bus operators.
  • Contract B2C and B2B retailers (OTAs, travel agencies, TMCs, inbound specialists) and own the full commercial lifecycle from outreach to go-live.
  • Own post-signature execution for retailers: onboarding, integration support, incubation, performance ramp-up, and long-term revenue expansion.
  • Drive sales and revenue growth by securing high-impact partnerships aligned with strategic goals in Northeast Asia.
  • Collaborate with BD, Integrations, Product, and Finance; identify tech-stack workarounds to unlock additional growth and remove blockers.

Requirements

  • Japanese: native-level fluency (mandatory)
  • 5+ years in travel-tech with direct experience in the Japanese and/or South Korean market.
  • Proven track record closing commercial agreements with rail or transport operators; existing relationships with JR group entities are a strong advantage.
  • Deep understanding of the North Asia travel landscape (carriers/retailers, inbound dynamics, regulatory environment, distribution infrastructure).
  • Hunter profile with ability to independently open doors, run negotiations, and close agreements.
  • English: fluent (spoken and written); Korean fluency is a strong plus.
