What you will do

• Define and drive data engineering standards and best practices across the organization.
• Lead and facilitate the global Data Engineering Guild through meetups, tech talks, and hackathons.
• Develop and curate the internal Data Engineering learning track and curriculum.
• Coach and mentor data engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning and enablement.
• Promote reusable engineering patterns and platform adoption across diverse business units.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Science and Architecture to align on standards.

Requirements

• Must reside in the Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Spain, or Greece.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform development in large-scale enterprises.
• Strong hands-on expertise with lakehouse architectures and data platform technologies, preferably Databricks.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ingestion patterns, and data quality concepts.
• Proven ability to drive initiatives through influence in an agile, federated environment.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills with an enablement-focused mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience building or running internal enablement programs or communities of practice.
• Relevant certifications such as Databricks Data Engineer.
• Experience working in a Center of Excellence or platform team setup.
