What you will do
- Own backend financial systems end-to-end, from transaction authorization and ledger accounting to credit decisioning, rewards engines, and payment processing.
- Design and ship net-new backend products as the platform expands into new financial products and deeper rewards capabilities.
- Build foundational platform work including shared services, API infrastructure, and developer tooling to improve engineering speed and reliability.
- Leverage AI tools across the stack, from prototyping and testing to production code.
- Collaborate across product, design, infrastructure, compliance, solutions engineering, and brand partners.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, including root cause analysis.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production backend systems (fintech experience is a plus).
- Experience building services that handle real money, real users, or real-time decisions with strong attention to correctness.
- Proficiency in Go (primary backend language) or a similar language with willingness to ramp quickly.
- Experience ensuring data consistency and transactional integrity across distributed systems.
- Strong relational database skills: schema design, migrations, and query performance tuning.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS), CI/CD pipelines, and deployment tooling; comfortable with on-call and incident response.
