What you will do

• Build and evolve microservices handling high-volume financial and transactional data.
• Design secure APIs for integration with third-party payment processors and banking partners.
• Develop data-driven services for account management and financial insights.
• Write readable, testable, and maintainable code following agile development practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mobile, product, and data science teams.
• Improve system architecture to support rapid, high-quality feature releases.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building backend services in production environments.
• Proficiency in Rust and Go.
• Expert knowledge of SQL and financial data modeling.
• Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Must be based in Chicago, IL and able to work in-office 4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, or banking systems.
• Knowledge of compliance standards like SOC 2, PCI DSS, or GDPR.
• Experience with gRPC, protobuf, or GraphQL.
