What you will do

• Define and own the organization's test strategy and release-readiness criteria for high-risk launches.
• Establish SLO and error-budget frameworks for critical services across all product teams.
• Lead incident response for high-severity events and conduct blameless postmortems.
• Build foundational tooling including CI/CD test gates, load-testing harnesses, and observability instrumentation.
• Identify systemic sources of fragility and drive root-cause fixes across the engineering organization.
• Act as the technical authority on go/no-go decisions for production releases.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area or NYC.
• Extensive hands-on experience in both software quality engineering and site reliability.
• Deep fluency with observability stacks, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven experience defining SLO/error-budget frameworks and leading incident response.
• Strong AI-native mindset with a clear perspective on AI-assisted testing and anomaly detection.
• Ability to influence teams through evidence and working systems rather than mandates.
