What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of sales agreements, including drafting, redlining, and negotiating NDAs and SaaS contracts at pace.
• Support Public Sector (SLED) contracting by navigating government procurement frameworks and municipal terms.
• Structure and close referral and revenue partnership agreements in collaboration with the business development team.
• Provide legal advice on IP, licensing, trademarks, and the intersection of AI and technology law.
• Support the privacy compliance program, including data breach response and DPIAs across EMEA and UK jurisdictions.
• Contribute to Legal Ops by improving internal processes and shaping the use of AI tools within the legal function.

Requirements

• Called to the bar in a Canadian province or territory, in good standing.
• 3-5 years of experience as a commercial or technology lawyer with depth in SaaS and privacy law.
• Proven track record in negotiating complex commercial deals without treating contracts as mere risk elimination.
• Ability to operate in a rapid-paced environment with variable scope and strong professional judgement.
• Strong communication skills to translate legal risks for non-legal stakeholders.
• Must be based in Canada (Vancouver, Calgary, or Toronto) to meet hybrid office requirements.
