TL;DR

Senior Equipment Engineer (Nuclear): Designing and innovating custom production equipment for the mass production of portable nuclear microreactors with an accent on fabrication, assembly, and semi-remote fueling operations. Focus on developing multi-component assemblies in CAD, applying GD&T, and managing component suppliers.

Location: 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA. Visa sponsorship is not provided; candidate must comply with U.S. export controls.

Salary: $133.5K – $184.8K + Equity

hirify.global is building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors to provide critical power for hospitals, data centers, and military bases.

What you will do

  • Partner with design and manufacturing engineers to develop production equipment for fabricating complex mechanisms and structures.
  • Design, analyze, and fabricate equipment that enables semi-remote fueling and defueling of the reactor.
  • Identify and develop appropriate suppliers for components and fabrication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical equipment design and fabrication of multi-component assemblies in CAD (NX or similar).
  • Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) applied to fabrication drawings.
  • Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ.
  • Must be eligible to serve in compliance with U.S. export controls.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • Proficiency with analytical hand calculations and finite element-based analysis (FEA).
  • Experience with custom machine design, electromechanical systems, motors, actuators, linear rails, and bearings.
