TL;DR
Electronics Design Engineer II (Electronics Hardware): Supporting the design and development of advanced electronic products for the MIL-AERO market with an accent on electronics hardware schematics, PCB layouts, and integration/testing. Focus on traceability from customer to system requirements, building engineering test requirements and plans, and applying EMI/EMC-compliant design and qualification standards.
Location: Johnson City, TN (Onsite)
Salary: $90,000.00–$120,000.00 annually

What you will do
- Design electronics hardware schematics, PCB layouts, and Bills of Materials.
- Perform electronics hardware level integration and testing.
- Support technical project planning across designs, proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and interface meetings.
- Ensure traceability between customer requirements and system requirements.
- Develop engineering test requirements and unit/subsystem/system test plans.
- Serve as a hands-on technical contributor and technical resource for other design engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related technical degree.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in electronics hardware design and development.
- Experience designing moderately complex electronic hardware from requirements through qualification testing and initial production.
- Ability to access U.S. export-controlled information.
Nice to have
- Expertise in high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal electronics (e.g., Ethernet, FPGAs/CPLDs/MCUs, power management, signal integrity).
- Proficiency with communication protocols (USB, CAN, RS-422/485, SPI, I2C, UART).
- Background in EMI/EMC-compliant design and MIL-AERO qualification standards (MIL-STD-810/461/1275, DO-160).
- Experience with hardware characterization and debug (e.g., S-parameters, impedance profiling, lab instrumentation).
- Working knowledge of optical systems and measurement techniques.
