What you will do

• Define and evolve fullstack architecture for growth surfaces including landing pages and onboarding flows.
• Write and review code daily across backend (Ruby, Python) and frontend (TypeScript, React).
• Lead 3–6 engineers through multi-month projects and provide technical mentorship.
• Drive performance optimization across the stack including API efficiency and database query performance.
• Partner with Design, Product, and Marketing to scope experiments and prioritize conversion improvements.
• Establish standards for code quality, performance, and testing coverage.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada and legally authorized to work in the country.
• BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years focused on backend development.
• Deep proficiency in Ruby and/or Python, with strong working knowledge of TypeScript and React.
• Strong experience with API design, PostgreSQL, and distributed systems.
• Proven track record of leading small-to-medium teams to deliver high-quality applications.

Nice to have

• Experience with A/B testing frameworks and data-driven experimentation.
• Experience integrating AI/ML-powered personalization or recommendation features.
• Hands-on experience with analytics instrumentation like PostHog, Segment, or Amplitude.
• Familiarity with frontend performance optimization (Core Web Vitals, SSR/ISR).
