TL;DR

Systems Engineering Intern (Aerospace): Supporting the architecture, analysis, and verification of satellite programs with an accent on mission design, technical budget assessments, and MBSE workflows. Focus on automating engineering tasks using Python, managing system requirements, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to ensure mission success.

Location: Must be able to work on-site at the Toronto office at least three days per week.

What you will do

  • Support satellite architecture, design, and analysis including trade studies and technical budget assessments.
  • Manage and maintain system and subsystem requirements, verification plans, and traceability documentation.
  • Contribute to model development using MBSE tools to define system architecture and operational concepts.
  • Use Python to automate engineering calculations, process technical data, and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prepare technical outputs and support design reviews and hardware testing.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Aerospace, Systems, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • Must have completed 3+ years of study and be returning to studies after the internship.
  • Available for a full-time, 8, 12, or 16-month internship beginning September 2026.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Toronto at least three days per week.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft systems, mission analysis, and technical budget generation.
  • Proficiency in technical analysis using Python or similar scripting tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience with MBSE tools such as Capella, Cameo, MagicDraw, or SysML.
  • Participation in university design teams, CubeSat projects, or robotics teams.
  • Experience working in a lab, integration, testing, or hardware development environment.
  • Experience developing scripts, dashboards, or tools for engineering analysis.
