What you will do

  • Assess and verify compliance with engineering standards and technical requirements for assigned asset classes.
  • Conduct field inspections and condition assessments to develop preventative and remediation strategies for asset defects.
  • Oversee technical work performed by agency-retained and outsourced contractors throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and control the development of RAMS requirements, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage risk-based assurance and audit programs to ensure performance against targets and contract requirements.
  • Support the identification and rectification of failure points using FMECA and RCFA processes to enhance system reliability.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in railway systems design, delivery, testing, commissioning, operations, or maintenance.
  • Proficiency in systems engineering processes, including requirements management and system integration.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards such as Transport Canada, FRA, AAR, and CROR.
  • Strong project management skills, including budget control, vendor management, and risk assessment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical standards, codes, and environmental legislation.

Nice to have

  • P.Eng designation or C.E.T. certification.
