What you will do

• Advise on employment matters, including hiring, discipline, performance management, and wage and hour compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, supplier contracts, and strategic partnerships.
• Manage the company's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international laws, specifically EAR, ITAR, and DFARS export controls.
• Support corporate governance, M&A, and deliver legal training programs for employees and management.
• Partner with business leaders to identify and mitigate regulatory risks associated with operations.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in a U.S. state bar.
• 6–8 years of legal experience, preferably combining law firm and in-house experience.
• Significant expertise in employment law counseling and complex commercial contract negotiation.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required (ITAR/EAR compliance).
• Demonstrated knowledge of export control regulations (EAR, ITAR, DFARS).
• Ability to work on-site in Salt Lake City on a regular basis.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting companies in aerospace, defense, unmanned systems, or advanced technology sectors.
• Prior experience with FAA or FCC regulations, spectrum licensing, or aviation compliance.
