Complex Claims Specialist-MPL (Insurance Claims): Handling mid to high-severity primary Miscellaneous Professional Liability claims from inception to resolution with an accent on litigation process, coverage letters, and defense strategy. What you will do
- Adjust and resolve complex mid to high-severity claims, including all phases of litigation
- Draft complex coverage letters (including reservation of rights and denial letters) with minimal supervision
- Review and analyze claim documentation and legal filings
- Drive litigation best practices to lead defense strategy on litigated files
- Investigate, negotiate, and use alternative dispute resolution to improve claim outcomes
- Mentor team members and accurately document claim files in line with company policies and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- 6+ years of Professional Liability and/or Specialty/Financial lines claims handling experience
- Advanced knowledge of coverage within the role’s specialty/focus
- Advanced knowledge of litigation process and strong negotiation skills
- Proven ability to positively affect complex claim outcomes through investigation and negotiation
- Experience mentoring and training other claims examiners
- Adjuster licensing required within 90 days of employment
