What you will do
- Lead and mentor a team of programmers through 1-1s, appraisals, and technical guidance.
- Oversee technical design and implementation to ensure project quality, performance, and stability.
- Translate design goals into scalable technical solutions in collaboration with other leads.
- Contribute directly to coding, debugging, and performance optimization of core systems.
- Drive improvements in workflows, tools, and pipelines while upholding studio standards.
- Collaborate with Technical Directors and Producers on project planning and risk management.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional programming experience in game development using C++ and/or C#.
- Proven experience leading teams on shipped titles.
- Deep proficiency with Unreal and/or Unity engines.
- Experience shipping games on consoles such as PS4/5, Xbox Series S/X, and Switch.
- Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid setup in Leamington Spa, UK.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and agile methodologies.
Nice to have
- Experience with bespoke C++ engines.
- Knowledge of backend systems like PlayFab or Nakama.
- Proficiency in Python, Typescript, PowerShell, or Lua.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., TeamCity).
- Interest or experience with generative AI technologies.
