What you will do

  • Adjudicate assigned 1st party commercial property claims within given authority and provide operational support to the claims team.
  • Adjust and resolve moderate claims across all phases of 1st party commercial property claims.
  • Review and assess coverage for losses and complete in-depth investigations to confirm how coverage applies.
  • Manage smaller business income losses and the period of restoration.
  • Document claim files with all relevant claim documentation, correspondence, and notes in line with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Assess reserves for indemnity and expense payments; draft reservation of rights and denial letters with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of 1st party commercial claims handling experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of claims analysis and adjusting practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of standards for claims documentation.
  • Proven ability to negotiate settlement of moderate to complex claims.
  • Strong analytical skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active insurance adjuster’s license preferred.
