Manager - Construction Claims: Managing a team of claims examiners to resolve construction bodily injury and construction defect claims with an accent on coverage confirmation, assignment oversight, reserve/settlement approvals, and compliance with Fair Claims Practices. Focus on coaching and performance evaluation of specialists while coordinating large loss reviews with underwriting, actuarial, and executive stakeholders.

Salary: $97,520 - $134,090 base + 25% incentive

What you will do
- Confirm coverage by reviewing policies and claim documents submitted in support of claims.
- Direct and monitor assignments of new loss activity for construction bodily injury and construction defect claims.
- Review and approve correspondence and reports, including coverage position letters and Large Loss Reports.
- Review and approve reserves and settlements exceeding the handling specialist’s authority; recommend reserve changes to senior leadership.
- Ensure team adherence to Fair Claims Practices regulations and internal performance objectives.
- Assess specialist/team performance, provide feedback, identify training needs, and prepare reports and budget/resource inputs.
Requirements
- US Work Authorization required; does not provide visa sponsorship.
- Minimum 10 years of claims handling experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Must have or be eligible to receive a claims adjuster license.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
Nice to have
- Successful completion of 5 years as a Senior Claims Specialist or Executive Claims Specialist.
- JD, advanced degree, or focused technical degree.
- Industry designations (INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, CPCU) or I-Lead/other management training.
