TL;DR

What you will do

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed internet, video, and voice networks, including associated wiring and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities within assigned service areas.
  • Climb poles, locate buried cables, and dig up and bury cable using utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations during field operations.
  • Assist other technical personnel when requested and support sales/marketing activities with customer-facing work and referrals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to distinguish colors on facilities.
  • Ability to handle 28-foot extension ladders (up to 75 lbs routine work) and utility access hole covers (up to 150 lbs).
  • Ability to complete service tech boot camp training and perform POTS/DSL installation/repair, cable splicing/maintenance, basic transmissions, air pressure, and HSI installations.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office applications) and ability to work in confined spaces and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; ability to work varying shifts including mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays.
