What you will do

• Create and check structural steel and foundation designs and calculations.
• Perform rigid bus, sag, and tension calculations for substation projects.
• Ensure all designs meet building codes, customer specifications, and electrical clearance requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to the design team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project managers to resolve field problems and remove project impediments.
• Assist the proposal department with structural design estimates and technical sketches for bids.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural concentration preferred) or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven knowledge of PLS software is required.
• Experience with substation and transmission line folded plate structure design and fabrication.
• Strong communication, organization, and writing skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed to meet project schedules.

Nice to have

• Structural Licensure (SE).
• Working knowledge of Staad Pro, MathCAD, Risa, and L-Pile.
