What you will do

• Define and evolve cross-team cloud-native architecture for AEC Data services, APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.
• Design API surfaces, service contracts, semantic data models, schemas, versioning strategies, and migration approaches.
• Establish architecture standards, reference architectures, reusable components, ADRs, and design-review governance.
• Prototype alternative architectural approaches and assess feasibility before broad adoption.
• Drive reliability, security, performance, observability, SLOs, and clear architecture documentation.
• Mentor engineers and architects while influencing technical alignment across product and platform teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years designing cloud-native distributed systems, including 5+ years operating at cross-team architect, principal, or staff level.
• Deep expertise in cloud services, preferably AWS, API and service design, microservices, event-driven systems, and resilience patterns.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, schema definition, API contracts, compatibility, versioning, and evolution strategies.
• Excellent understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, lead cross-functional alignment, mentor technical teams, and communicate complex ideas clearly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with the ability to collaborate with a global team.

Nice to have

• AWS services, REST, GraphQL federation, relational and NoSQL databases, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and SLOs.
• Knowledge graphs, RDF/OWL, property graphs, BIM, Revit, or AEC industry standards such as IFC and COBie.
• Kafka or Kinesis, schema registries, exactly-once processing, and multi-region or multi-tenant architecture.
• AI systems including RAG, agents, LLM observability, AI safety, or domain-specific AI for AEC.
