TL;DR

Location: Remote (USA). Hybrid work is required for candidates living within a reasonable commute to New York City or San Francisco offices.

Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 + Equity

hirify.global is a fast-growing vertical software company rebuilding core HR, finance, and operations systems for the construction industry using AI and embedded payments.

What you will do

  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on federal, state, and local payroll tax filing rules.
  • Manage reactive tax support tickets, including tax notices, W-2 issues, and filing blocks.
  • Conduct proactive tax setup reviews for high-risk customers during onboarding.
  • Build and maintain playbooks and training documentation to scale tax expertise across the company.
  • Collaborate with Support, Launch, and Product teams to automate tax-related processes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll tax experience at a payroll provider, SaaS, or PEO.
  • Hands-on experience managing agency notices and resolving complex tax issues for customers.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and tax reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems such as Check, Gusto, Rippling, ADP, or Paychex.
  • Deep understanding of POA/TPA processes, wage bases, and withholding mechanics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to de-escalate frustrated customers.
