TL;DR

Technical Program Manager (Hardware & Controls Engineering): Driving the execution of multidisciplinary hardware, controls, and software platform programs with an accent on end-to-end program execution and cross-functional alignment. Focus on managing complex systems from concept through commissioning and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards like GAMP 5 and 21 CFR Part 11.

Salary: $118,800 - $159,600 USD

What you will do

  • Lead multi-project engineering programs for custom hardware, controls, and automation systems in industrial environments.
  • Own end-to-end program execution, coordinating between Product, Engineering, IT, and external vendors.
  • Manage projects from concept through commissioning, including scope definition, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Partner with Legal and Finance to manage MSAs, SOWs, and vendor contracting.
  • Oversee vendor performance to ensure hardware and control systems meet quality and regulatory expectations.
  • Communicate program status and financial forecasts to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, or Automation).
  • 3-5 years of experience delivering complex systems engineering or industrial control programs.
  • Experience with life sciences, regulated manufacturing, and industrial automation integration.
  • Strong background in systems integration, SCADA, and hardware/software interfaces.
  • Proven experience with quality management systems (e.g., GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Must be based in Cambridge, MA or San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

  • Experience in laboratory or research environments in life sciences.
  • PMP or equivalent program management certification.
  • Six Sigma or continuous improvement training.
  • Experience modernizing or migrating legacy systems to standardized architectures.
