Senior Software Development Engineer - Developer Platform

Location: Boulder, Colorado, USA; at least 50% of each quarter is spent in the office or in the field.

Salary: $168,500–$252,700 USD annual base pay for Boulder; additional US locations offer $160,100–$285,100 USD.

What you will do

• Design and implement platform capabilities for the hirify.global Developer Portal and related services.
• Build scalable, reliable APIs, SDKs, and agentic service integrations for internal and external developers.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, technical strategy, and build-vs-integrate evaluations.
• Collaborate with principal engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver platform initiatives.
• Maintain API governance, including versioning, backward compatibility, security, and documentation standards.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and pairing.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including senior-level ownership of production web or platform services.
• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying distributed systems.
• Experience building developer platforms, developer portals, or external-facing services for third-party developers or partners.
• Hands-on experience operating cloud-native production services on GCP, AWS, or Azure, including availability, performance, logging, metrics, and alerting.
• Strong experience with APIs and modern web technologies, including TypeScript or JavaScript, React, REST, GraphQL, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, and API versioning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; Kubernetes expertise and experience using AI coding agents are also required.

Nice to have

• Experience in enterprise HCM, talent, or workforce management.
• Experience with API catalogs, self-service onboarding, multi-product, or multi-tenant SaaS environments.
• Interest in developer relations, technical writing, and developer-facing documentation.
• Cloud certifications such as GKE or AWS Solutions Architect.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, or Helm cloud development technologies.
