What you will do

• Design, build, and operate scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Python following domain-driven design.
• Architect robust integrations between internal systems and commercial platforms using REST, GraphQL, and event-driven patterns.
• Build and maintain cloud-native solutions on AWS, leveraging DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, SNS, Lambda, and ECS.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code and maintain observability through monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing.
• Enhance web interfaces using React and modern TypeScript to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Cursor into the engineering workflow to accelerate delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development and production deployment.
• Proficiency in Java (preferred) and one dynamically typed language (Python or JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native application development.
• Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating commercial enterprise platforms such as ERP, PLM, or MES.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and GraphQL federation.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into backend services.
• Track record of mentoring junior engineers.
• Domain experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or supply chain.
