Location: USA (Pleasanton, CA). Must spend at least 50% of time each quarter in the office or in the field.
Salary: $187,100 - $334,300 USD

What you will do
- Define and drive the platform roadmap for an open developer ecosystem, including API design and SDK frameworks.
- Lead the technical strategy for the Developer Portal, decoupling a monolithic UI into independent frontend applications.
- Establish API governance, versioning strategies, and backward-compatibility standards.
- Evaluate build-vs-integrate decisions for foundational components to ensure ecosystem health.
- Mentor senior engineers and sponsor those working on complex, ambiguous problems.
- Represent the platform externally through technical blogs, documentation, and developer relations.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, with 3–5+ years at a principal or staff level.
- 6+ years of experience designing and operating distributed systems.
- Deep expertise in React, HTML, CSS, and advanced state management patterns.
- Experience owning technical strategy for complex web platforms or developer portals.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's degree strongly preferred.
- Must be based in the USA.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with LLM-backed services or agent frameworks.
- Knowledge of enterprise HCM, talent, or workforce management domains.
- Cloud certifications (GKE, AWS Solutions Architect, etc.).
- Experience in multi-product or multi-tenant environments.
