Salary: $170,000–$240,000

What you will do
- Lead the architecture and design of HIL test benches for effector systems including flight controllers, ESCs, and sensors.
- Define HIL strategy, fidelity requirements, and validation approaches to ensure comprehensive system-level test coverage.
- Architect and integrate high-fidelity simulation models for flight dynamics, actuators, and sensors.
- Drive the development of automated test frameworks and CI/CD integration for continuous firmware and software validation.
- Collaborate with GNC and systems engineering teams to define verification strategies and acceptance criteria.
- Support the transition of HIL-validated systems to integration and flight test phases.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in hardware-in-the-loop testing or embedded systems integration.
- Proficiency in real-time simulation platforms such as dSPACE or NI VeriStand.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++ for automation and scripting.
- Experience with flight controller software (PX4, ArduPilot) and communication protocols (MAVLink, CAN, UART, SPI, I2C).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with ROS/ROS 2 for simulation and integration testing.
- Background in GNC model development using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience with FPGA-based simulation, RF systems, or GPS signal simulation.
- FAA Part 107 certification or equivalent UAV operational credentials.
