EHS Engineer (Manufacturing)

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Identify and assess hazards for emerging processes including MIG, TIG, and laser welding, additive manufacturing, casting, and forging.
• Develop and implement engineering controls, administrative procedures, and PPE programs tailored to specific hazard profiles.
• Partner with R&D engineers to integrate safety by design into process development workflows and equipment commissioning.
• Lead incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions for safety incidents.
• Author and maintain safety procedures, SOPs, and risk assessments (Haz-ops, JHAs, RAs).
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADEQ, and local regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and California regulatory requirements.
• Technical knowledge of hazards associated with welding, metal additive manufacturing, casting, and forging.
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required to comply with ITAR regulations.
• Ability to assess risk in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as CSP or CIH.
• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with laser safety programs and metal powder handling safety.
• Experience building EHS systems in a startup or scaling environment.
