Business Analyst (Energy Trading, ETRM)

TL;DR

Business Analyst (Energy Trading, ETRM): Support the implementation of the Orchestrade platform for an energy trading client by gathering and defining business requirements and analyzing end-to-end trading workflows with an accent on ETRM modules (deal capture, pricing, risk monitoring, P&L, invoicing) and scalable solution design. Focus on bridging business, trading, IT, and project management teams while contributing to testing and UAT and driving change management for user adoption.

Location: Houston (Hybrid – at least 4 days onsite/week)

What you will do

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from trading, risk, operations, and finance stakeholders.
• Act as a liaison between business users, project management, and technical teams across the implementation lifecycle.
• Participate in workshops and contribute to solution design activities.
• Support ETRM platform implementation and configuration, including deal capture, pricing, risk monitoring, P&L, and invoicing.
• Analyze trading workflows across the full trade lifecycle and refine requirements for scalable, efficient solutions.
• Support testing activities (test preparation, execution, and User Acceptance Testing) and assist with change management and user adoption.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Energy Trading, Commodities Trading, or Capital Markets environments.
• Strong experience with ETRM platforms.
• Strong understanding of power trading markets and the energy trading lifecycle.
• Experience participating in large-scale trading platform implementation projects.
• Strong requirements gathering and business process analysis capabilities, with effective interaction across technical and business stakeholders.
• Visa sponsorship: sponsorship under specific U.S. work visas (TN and E-2) for eligible Canadian, Mexican, and French citizens; no support for other visa types (e.g., H-1B).

Nice to have

• Previous Orchestrade experience.
• Experience with similar ETRM platforms (Calypso, Murex).
• Expertise in the US Power Market.
• Experience with European power market and forward trading.
