What you will do

• Lead the strategic development and execution of state and local regulatory permitting initiatives.
• Engage with regulators and policymakers to secure critical approvals and advance the company mission.
• Track and communicate state and local policy developments and rulemakings on autonomous vehicles.
• Collaborate with Legal, Safety, and Communications teams to develop strategies and applications.
• Maintain strong relationships with state and local agencies and represent the company in trade associations and industry events.

Requirements

• 5+ years of government relations or public policy experience within government, nonprofits, or industry associations.
• Proven expertise in managing multiple complex, cross-functional projects simultaneously.
• Ability to persuasively and diplomatically advocate for complex policy positions to diverse audiences.
• Strong skills in analyzing and summarizing complex regulatory proposals into informative materials.
• Experience with state legislatures or regulatory bodies overseeing technology, transportation, or autonomous vehicles.
• Must be based in or able to work hybridly in Foster City, CA.

Nice to have

• Advanced Degree such as J.D., MBA, MPP, or MPA.
• 3+ years of specific experience in transportation technology policy.
• Direct experience working with state agencies on autonomous vehicle regulatory affairs.
