Senior Platform Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Senior Platform Engineer (AI/DevOps): Designing and operating a developer platform to enable product teams with an accent on AI-native platform tooling and agentic infrastructure. What you will do

• Design and operate AI-native platform tooling, including agentic service catalogs and MCP-backed APIs.
• Build and scale agent golden paths, defining deployment standards and guardrails for AI agent shipping.
• Lead the rollout and standardization of Istio across the fleet for mTLS, traffic shaping, and policy enforcement.
• Establish platform guardrails via scorecards, insights, and CI policies to improve service health.
• Own core infrastructure components including Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines with clear SLOs.
• Partner with product squads to co-design golden paths and measure developer experience metrics.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States
• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineer.
• Production experience with Backstage (or similar portals) and software templates.
• Deep expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Istio, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, Java, or Python.
• Experience enabling AI-assisted software delivery and automated remediation pipelines for AI-generated code.

Nice to have

• Track record of building highly adopted self-service developer workflows.
• Experience leading large-scale dependency and framework upgrades across multiple repositories.
• Hands-on experience with Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• Security-first mindset with expertise in IAM, secrets management, and container scanning.
• Strong technical writing skills and experience leading cross-organizational programs.
