Java Developer (Spring)

What you will do

• Develop functional, performant and well-tested features aligned with business needs.
• Progressively modernise underlying components and microservices in line with open-source software lifecycles.
• Work with developers, leads and product owners to shape implementation approaches and integrate microservices and components.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, run services in Kubernetes on AWS EKS, and support Prometheus and Grafana monitoring and alerting.
• Use AI coding tools while maintaining code quality through reviews and engineering judgement.

Requirements

• Hands-on development experience with Spring Framework 6+ and Spring Boot 3+.
• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests, using mocking frameworks and applying test-driven development.
• Experience building REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Practical experience with relational database management systems and ORM frameworks.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming fundamentals and event-driven architecture.
• Understanding of continuous integration and successful collaboration in a sociable, multifunctional team.
• Ability to use AI tools to improve code quality and productivity.

Nice to have

• Development experience with caching and message queue technologies.
• Experience using containers during development.
• Experience with web systems designed for millions of users.
• Experience with agile practices.
• Development experience with Kotlin.
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and Terraform.
