What you will do

• Own the functional safety case for QNX products across the full lifecycle, including Safety Plans, Concepts, and structured arguments.
• Perform high-rigor safety analyses (HARA, FMEA, FTA, DFA) to produce artifacts for independent assessment.
• Define and manage safety evidence for certification and serve as the primary technical interface with external safety assessors.
• Advise engineering teams on ASIL-appropriate design decisions and evaluate customer architectures.
• Support customers and Tier 1 partners on SEooC integration and safety manual interpretation.
• Represent QNX in standards bodies to influence emerging safety requirements.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in ISO 26262 with hands-on application of Part 6, Part 8, and SEooC.
• Proven experience performing safety analyses including HARA, FMEA, FTA, and DFA.
• End-to-end ownership of a safety case through a full certification or assessment cycle.
• Experience with requirements management tools such as Jama or DOORS.
• Embedded C development background sufficient to evaluate ASIL-constrained implementations.
• Must be based in or able to work from Ottawa, Ontario.
