Head of Procurement - Direct Materials

What you will do

• Develop and implement global category strategies for direct materials, balancing cost, quality, supply security, and sustainability.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the direct materials procurement team.
• Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers while managing strategic relationships and contracts.
• Drive cost savings, risk mitigation, process improvements, and supplier performance management.
• Establish supplier diversification and contingency-planning strategies.
• Collaborate with production, R&D, finance, and supply chain teams; define procurement KPIs and ensure compliance.

Requirements

• Extensive leadership experience in direct materials procurement within a global matrix manufacturing organization.
• Expertise in category strategy, strategic sourcing, supplier lifecycle management, contract negotiation, and supply security.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing procurement teams.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, project management, and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of sustainable procurement and ESG integration.
• Valid driving license.
