TL;DR

Cloud Engineering Specialist (AWS): Building and industrializing network operations through a cloud-based Common Data Fabric and AIOps with an accent on AWS-native infrastructure, IaC, and high-scale data streaming. Focus on deploying reusable Terraform modules, implementing secure multi-AZ VPC architectures, and establishing end-to-end observability for serverless systems.

Location: Hybrid (3 days a week in office in London or Bristol, 2 days from anywhere)

What you will do

• Deploy reusable AWS modules using Terraform and CloudFormation for components including MSK, Flink, EMR, S3, Neptune, and SageMaker.
• Implement automated CI/CD pipelines via GitLab and Jenkins for IaC, services, data pipelines, and ML models.
• Design and implement secure multi-AZ VPC architectures with private subnets, routing, and on-prem connectivity via Direct Connect/VPN.
• Engineer governed multi-layer data storage using S3, DynamoDB, Aurora/RDS, and Redshift/Iceberg.
• Build end-to-end observability using CloudWatch metrics/logs, OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing, and defined SLIs/SLOs.
• Operate AWS Neptune graph clusters for network topology and manage smooth production releases.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in the UK to support hybrid office attendance in London or Bristol.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS Compute, Databases, and Streaming services (MSK, Flink, S3, DynamoDB, Aurora, Redshift, Lambda).
• Full understanding of AWS resilience patterns, backup, and incident response strategies.
• Detailed knowledge of AWS Lambda, including runtimes, packaging, storage, concurrency, and dead-letter queues.
• Proficiency with AWS CLI and working knowledge of Python.
• Strong understanding of VPCs, Route tables, Transit Gateway, DNS, and IAM roles/policies.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures using Step Functions and EventBridge.
• Experience with "shift-left" quality practices, automated testing, and policy-as-code.
• Relevant AWS certifications.
• Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills.
