Forward Deployed AI Engineer (West)

Location: Remote, but candidates must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or work in the PST time zone

Annual salary and variable compensation: $155,000–$190,000, plus equity

What you will do

• Design, implement, and scale production-grade GenAI observability and evaluation programs for enterprise AI teams.
• Lead technical discussions with engineers and senior executives, translating business priorities into scalable solutions.
• Build custom integrations, tooling, and workflows that extend the Arize platform.
• Manage multiple customer engagements from scoping through delivery.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to shape implementation strategy and product direction.
• Define technical playbooks and delivery methodologies for the Forward Deployed Engineering team.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least two of Python, Java, and TypeScript.
• Experience building MLOps pipelines or developing, deploying, and iterating on production Generative AI applications.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, plus Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to communicate with technical and business audiences, including senior executives.
• Ability to manage multiple client engineering engagements in demanding timelines and adapt to fast-paced startup or consulting environments.
