What you will do

• Design, develop, and qualify optical subsystems for high-precision inspection tools.
• Lead the design of custom metrology systems to verify and adjust primary optical performance.
• Perform thorough statistical tolerancing analysis and translate system requirements into manufacturing specifications.
• Implement optical alignment processes and design specialized test/tooling fixtures.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software teams following rigorous product design protocols.
• Debug and solve complex optical problems arising from customers or manufacturing.

Requirements

• Professional experience in high-precision optics or optical module development.
• Proficiency in optical modeling software such as Code V, Zemax, or LightTools.
• Experience with non-sequential ray tracing and stray light analysis.
• Strong fundamental understanding of physics and complex optical phenomena.
• Proficiency in computing languages such as Python or Matlab.
• Must be based in or authorized to work in Milpitas, CA, USA

Nice to have

• Masters or PhD in Optical Engineering or Physics.
• Experience with microscope systems.
• Background in high-precision optical tools manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Geometrical/Fourier optics, Radiometry, and Polarization.
