What you will do

• Design and analyze optical systems, including lenses, illumination, detectors, and lasers.
• Perform hands-on laboratory work involving optical alignment, characterization, and troubleshooting.
• Execute system modeling and performance analysis using simulation and data analysis tools.
• Conduct engineering experiments, including data collection and detailed documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration and product debugging.
• Support verification, validation, and qualification activities for optical system performance.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of experience in optical engineering.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Foundational knowledge of photonics or optoelectronic devices.
• Practical laboratory experience with optical alignment and measurement.
• Understanding of basic optical principles such as imaging, diffraction, polarization, and radiometry.
• Must be based in or authorized to work in North Reading, MA, US.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with optical design and simulation tools such as Zemax or Code V.
• Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for data analysis.
