TL;DR
Mechanical Engineer II (Sensor R&D): Designing and developing next‑generation patient monitoring sensors for critical care environments with an accent on the full product lifecycle from prototyping to manufacturing. Location: Onsite 4 days per week in Lafayette, Colorado. Candidates must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
Salary: $88,800 - $133,200

What you will do
- Execute mechanical and optomechanical design activities for patient monitoring sensors.
- Develop prototypes and engineering builds using CAD tools like SolidWorks.
- Conduct bench‑top experiments, material testing, and verification/validation activities.
- Analyze experimental data using tools such as MATLAB, Python, Minitab, or Excel.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design transfer into manufacturing and resolve performance issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience (or a Master’s degree).
- Prior experience in medical devices, sensor development, or hands‑on lab engineering.
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required (Sponsorship is not available for this level).
Nice to have
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and analysis tools like MATLAB, Python, Minitab, or Ansys.
- Experience with thin films, adhesives, and material mechanics.
- Knowledge of optics, optoelectronics, or tissue‑based sensing.
- Familiarity with design controls and medical device standards (ISO 13485, ISO 80601).
