What you will do

• Lead mechanical design and development of medical devices from definition through post-production support in a regulated environment.
• Design complex plastic injection molded parts and electro-mechanical assemblies using advanced 3D CAD.
• Utilize CAE simulation software (FEA, CFD, mold flow) to verify design elements and ensure product reliability.
• Create 2D engineering drawings per ASME Y14.5 standards and manage Engineering Change Orders.
• Conduct product failure investigations, root cause analyses, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Mentor and coach mechanical engineering associates and provide cross-functional technical leadership.

Requirements

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of related industry experience with a track record of successful project completion.
• Mastery level proficiency with SolidWorks and/or Creo and experience with PLM/PDM (Windchill preferred).
• Advanced knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (ANSYS preferred) and GD&T.
• Experience working within the medical device or other regulated industries.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Pittsburgh, PA.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
• Experience with body-worn (wearable) electronic design for textiles and soft goods.
• Proven experience in project management and technical leadership.
