Senior Product Designer (AI)

Location: Remote for candidates based in North and South American time zones. Optional access to offices in Berkeley, California, or coworking space reimbursement. Occasional travel for three annual retreats and conferences may be required.

Annual salary: $120,000–$200,000 USD, depending on location and experience.

What you will do

• Define and own design strategy for the website and data products.
• Lead design projects end-to-end, from problem definition through delivery.
• Design responsive user interfaces, dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Conduct user research to understand audience interests and research usage.
• Create specifications, mock-ups, prototypes, and contributions to the design library.
• Establish design processes and quality standards while mentoring another designer and part-time contributors.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing interactive digital products, including leading projects.
• Fluency in interpreting data visualizations and statistical insights for non-expert audiences.
• Portfolio demonstrating UI/UX and data visualization experience.
• Strong understanding of typography, color, and layout.
• Comfortable working in Figma, including auto-layout and components.
• Experience establishing or maintaining a design system and working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with scientific communication, illustration, or branding.
• Familiarity with front-end development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Python data visualization libraries such as Matplotlib or Plotly.
• Prior familiarity with hirify.global’s work and strong written communication skills.
