Director of AI, Dating Outcomes

What you will do

• Set the long-term AI strategy and roadmap for dating recommendations across the user journey.
• Lead real-time, personalized recommendation and ranking systems focused on match quality and dating outcomes.
• Introduce differentiated, authentic Generative AI capabilities into user-facing dating experiences.
• Partner with product groups and executive leadership on roadmap decisions, tradeoffs, budget, and investment strategy.
• Establish standards for scalability, resilience, evaluation, fairness, and responsible AI.
• Scale the organization, develop technical leaders, and create predictable operating rhythms for delivery, reviews, and incident learning.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience across data science, applied ML, and software engineering.
• 6+ years of AI or engineering leadership experience defining strategy.
• Experience leading real-time, personalized recommendation systems in production, including relevance, fairness, and scale tradeoffs.
• Experience scaling ML or AI teams and developing technical leaders.
• Deep technical fluency in ML, reinforcement learning, Generative AI, and MLOps, with strong executive communication skills.
• Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.

Nice to have

• Experience building AI systems for two-sided or constrained marketplaces.
• Experience thoughtfully deploying Generative AI in user-facing products.
• Publishing, speaking, or community contributions demonstrating strong engagement with the field.
• Experience in high-stakes domains such as health, education, or finance.
• PhD in a relevant field.
