Compensation: CAD $130,000 to $170,000 plus performance bonus and benefits

What you will do

• Embed within the investment team to serve as the investment systems architect, owning the M&A process.
• Architect a data foundation for an AI-native M&A process, connecting data across the transaction lifecycle from screening to closing.
• Build novel AI tools for deal pricing, accelerated diligence, and target sourcing.
• Identify and prioritize AI and data science opportunities based on impact, effort, and risk.
• Translate complex business problems into technical requirements for engineers and turn model outputs into actionable decisions.
• Drive tool adoption through team training, workflow design, and impact measurement.

Requirements

• 6 to 10 years of experience across analytics, strategy, finance, or product.
• At least 3 years of experience specifically in AI, ML, or data science.
• Proven track record of shipping real AI tools, including LLMs, retrieval, or agentic workflows.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python or R, Excel, and modern BI tools (Looker, Power BI, or Tableau).
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to build credible business cases.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Toronto, Ontario.

Nice to have

• Direct experience in M&A, Investment Banking, or Private Equity, specifically within SaaS or vertical market software.
• Experience working as an embedded analyst or business partner rather than in a centralized team.
• Proven track record of measuring AI or data science ROI in production environments.
