TL;DR

Staff Software Engineer (Fullstack/Data Platform): Building the application layer for customer-facing data products with an accent on intuitive product experiences and durable APIs. Location: Remote (USA). Non-local candidates must be able to travel at minimum twice per year to Nashville, TN for company events.

Salary: $170,000 - $240,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of the application-facing data products platform, including product surfaces, backend services, and APIs.
• Build full-stack customer experiences using TypeScript, React, Node.js, and Python.
• Collaborate with Product teams to translate ambiguous ideas into functional customer workflows.
• Convert data science prototypes and analytics concepts into production-grade product experiences.
• Mentor data engineers in software engineering practices, including technical design, testing, and delivery patterns.
• Use customer signals and usage data to guide technical and engineering decisions.

Requirements

• Staff-level software engineering experience leading ambiguous, customer-facing product initiatives.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and modern web application architecture.
• Experience with Python or a demonstrated ability to work effectively in Python-based systems.
• Expertise in designing APIs, service boundaries, and production backend systems.
• Must be based in the USA.
• Strong technical communication skills for design docs and architecture discussions.

Nice to have

• Experience building data-heavy products, analytics tools, or benchmarking dashboards.
• Experience with AI or agentic product experiences.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, Kafka, Flink, or Materialize.
• Background in fintech, lending, banking, or proptech.
