Compensation: CA$225,300 – CA$361,750 (Canada), €94,050 – €155,650 (EU), $160,900 – $260,700 (US)

What you will do

• Design and maintain filesystem and container runtime components for the local runtime stack.
• Resolve performance and stability issues across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
• Optimize VirtioFS and OverlayFS technologies for AI agent workloads.
• Contribute to containerd integration and OCI-compliant lifecycle management.
• Collaborate on runtime architecture and engage with the open-source community.
• Participate in on-call rotations for critical stability issues.

Requirements

• 7+ years of systems programming experience with a focus on filesystems or container runtimes.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Deep understanding of filesystem semantics (POSIX, VFS, FUSE, VirtioFS).
• Experience with container technologies (OCI spec, containerd, runc).
• Proficiency in Go and/or Rust, with comfort reading and modifying C.
• Experience debugging complex cross-platform issues in kernel and userspace.
