What you will do

• Architect and implement large-scale distributed data systems and pipelines.
• Contribute to technical decision-making for batch and streaming data solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists and intelligence analysts.
• Explore and integrate cloud-native tools to optimize performance and scalability.
• Mentor engineers and champion best practices in code quality and system design.
• Shape the technical roadmap for data engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from London, UK
• Experience designing and maintaining distributed data systems in cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with big data frameworks like Spark or Databricks.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Ability to balance scalability, performance, and maintainability in system design.
• Interest in functional programming and data modeling.

Nice to have

• Experience with stream processing and event-driven architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience working in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Interest in crypto and blockchain technologies.
