AV Team Lead

TL;DR

AV Team Lead (AV Integration): Lead on-site installation of displays, projectors, audio systems, control systems, and teleconferencing systems with an accent on low-voltage cabling, complex rack wiring, and interpreting AV signal flow diagrams. Focus on guiding junior technicians and coordinating with AV engineers, Project Managers, and other trades to deliver installations on time and within budget.

Location: On-site in Charlotte, NC (Whitehall Park); regional travel to client sites (85%), based out of Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC.

What you will do

• Lead on-site AV installations for displays, projectors, audio, control, and teleconferencing systems.
• Install, test, and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat6, fiber, HDMI, HDBaseT, speaker wire) for AV implementations.
• Complete complex rack wiring for divisible spaces, auditoriums, and large-format environments.
• Read and interpret AV signal flow diagrams and as-built drawings; stage, test, and prepare AV and network hardware.
• Support collaboration platforms (Webex, MS Teams, Zoom) and ensure systems operate correctly.
• Provide direction to junior technicians and subcontractors; coordinate client-facing communication and work with other trades.

Requirements

• 5+ years of AV industry experience; high school diploma/GED or bachelor’s degree and/or military experience.
• Ability to work on ladders and perform physical tasks (lift/push/pull 50+ pounds, stand for long periods, bend/kneel, work with arms raised).
• On-site role in Charlotte, NC with regular regional travel to client sites (including weekly overnight/out-of-town travel up to 75–85%).
• Working understanding of collaboration platforms (Webex, MS Teams, Zoom).
• Ability to read and interpret AV signal flow diagrams and as-built drawings.

Nice to have

• AV industry certifications (CTS, Extron, AVIXA, Shure, Biamp, Crestron, Poly, Cisco, etc.).
• 5 years of AV integration experience.
